My co-worked was involved in this project when he was a summer trainee at the factory.

I’ll ask when he returns to the office. The car is currently located in a museum near the factory. I think the middle picture is from the museum.

The factory guys built the 6-door horizon after my colleague had already returned to his studies. But he was there when they were designing a 6-door version of the Talbot 1510. He did some chassis strength analysis for this. It didn’t progress beyond the drawing table and the Horizon was built instead.

“They just built things, so no particular reason wasn’t needed.” was his comment about why it was built. I guess the R&D guys had quite a lot of free time for weird projects as they did have a running factory but not any own products to design.

The Finnish built Talbots were “ Saabified” as they used locally built seats and wiring harnesses that were quite similar to ones that Saab models used .
